Oh what a week!!
**MAJOR NEWS**
We just got the phone call that we have successfully put a hoarder out of business. This woman was particularly dangerous because she claimed to be a RESCUE! By doing so she was able to con many people into giving her their animals, who subsequently suffered from lack of vet care and neglect.
WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!! If you have ever volunteered with us, or have time to commit to at least 1 shift per week, we need help with the animals! We can’t take them in unless we can properly care for them. Please contact us immediately at amy@jandyshome.org if you can help.
We also need litter. Lots of litter! It can always be dropped off at our facility at 4600 Knapp NE.
We have a LOT of things going on this month with our rescue. We have spent much of the past few months rescuing animals from dangerous situations, putting hoarders out of business, and providing vet care and spay/neuter to over 200+ animals! Already this year we are receiving fewer phone calls about “unwanted litters”, so we know we are making a difference.
For those of you interested in adding another bundle of joy to your life, we have 35 hurricane kittens arriving from New Orleans. They will be available for adoption by Wed. June 13. Whites, Calicos, Medium-haired, Tabby’s, and pretty much anything you can imagine. These are babies born to the strays left homeless by hurricane Katrina a year and a half ago. We are having a cat vaccine and cat/dog microchipping clinic Sat. June 16 from 10-1pm at 4600 Knapp NE. By law we can not do rabies shots. Cost is $20 per animal for microchips and includes lifetime registration! Vaccines are $10 each. Most cats do not wear collars, and collars can come off way to easily. If your pet is worth more than $20 to you, make sure it can always find its way home!
Johnny Carino’s is hosting a 4-course wine dinner extravaganza event to benefit local animals. For each couple who attends, another animal in Kent County will be “fixed”! Have a great meal for far less than what you would normally pay for a 2-course dinner with wine pairings, skip doing the dishes, and do a good deed at the same time!
