Iris' iris
Iris has had a crummy life so far. Rescued from a metal shop with 2 siblings, where she was ingesting all sorts of nasty things, her life hasn't been easy. One of her siblings has been adopted, but her twin brother Aster (it's almost impossible to tell them apart) and she are still with us. Aster has been the lucky one so far. Iris first came down with a skin problem, and after that was cleared up she started to lose the sight in one eye. She jumps and plays just fine so it doesn't appear to bother her. But in an effort to save her eye she has been on a LOT of unpleasant medicine for 2 months now. We are working on a last ditch effort to not have to remove her eye and we have hope it will work.
Despite the situation she has been amazingly forgiving! I am her enemy, the one who stuffs yucky medicine down her mouth and puts drops in her eye 4 times per day. But as soon as it's over she's crawling all over me, purring. She is very curious and playful. Unlike many other kittens we've seen, she and her brother have a unique attachment to each other. Our dream would be a home where both of them can live happily ever after together.
So if you're someone who can give a lifelong home to cats who have truly been rescued, and have the compassion to make Iris' life better by keeping her brother in it, come fill out an application and meet them!
