Pierre, April 2006-Oct 31, 2007

Pierre has been a part of our lives since mid-2006. He came from the farmer's market area with his brothers Hans and Claude. We called him Howler at first because he screamed for over a week straight. I was on the verge of a breakdown from it and nearly returned him.

With his long hair he was easily the most beautiful cat we've ever had. He was adopted by a wonderful family, but being so withdrawn and scared of noise he was unhappy and came back to us in early July 2007. Since then he's always been content being left alone.

This past week he has been more and more withdrawn. I grabbed him out of his cubby hole a few times to check on him, and on Saturday it was clear something was very wrong.

Today our vet told me Pierre likely has dry FIP. We could do more poking and prodding, but in the end we still can't help him and he is deteriorating quickly. So it is time to let him go.

Sigh.
