New Beginnings

There is a sort of peace now that the choice to move on to other endeavors has been made. As my boyfriend and I cuddled with our fur-family of cats last night and planned a ski weekend together, it was the first time in a long while I didn't need to worry. It has been over 2 years since I've seen my sister or taken a real vacation, and I am looking forward to it!!

The time has come

It is with satisfaction and sadness that I announce the closing of our animal shelter. The time has come to move on to other animal related endeavors. There is much to be done! Spay/Neuter, education, healthcare of homeless cats...........it is endless. Operating a shelter is managing the problem, not being a solution.

We have only 2 cats left for adoption! Chocolate Chip and Persia, my personal favorite. Persia is a little high stress and is being put on medication to relieve the anxiety she has felt living with lots of other animals. We feel she will do best in a home with no other cats or dogs. She does great with children! She is the only cat we've ever had who lets them drag her around by her stomach. Send us an email if you are interested in giving her the wonderful home she deserves.

**HELP NEEDED FOR SPECIAL SID**

Sid is one of our most special babies, of course in the sense that they are all extremely special and beloved. At this time he is fighting for his life and we need your help. He finally has the home that he (and all animals) deserve. He loves his brother Liam and could not have a better life. But now he is very sick and we don't know what is wrong. Our little trooper had surgery and there is still no answer as to what is wrong. His vet bills are extremely large and we are asking for help! So far the bill is nearly $1500 and the tests have just begun.

Sid survived the hurricane hell of Katrina, and came to us with this note:

Dear Amy,
Even though all of our babies are special, Sid is super special. Please give him extra loves and hugs and snuggles. He likes kisses and raspberries on his belly. He loves to be held. He likes his toys, his hammocks, and his little teddy bear.
Please take good care of my Sid and help him find a great, loving, indoor home. He will make someone very happy.
Thank you,
Laura R.

Tax deductible donations for Sid can be sent to: Jandy's Home, P.O. Box 68045, Grand Rapids, MI 49516.

On behalf of the animals
THANK YOU!!!
Amy
